Our Retreats

Bible Explorations sponsors an eight-day retreat every spring and fall near Terra Bella in California, USA.  The spring retreat coincides with Passover & the Feast of Unleavened Bread and the fall retreat coincides with the Feast of Tabernacles.

Can't attend our Retreats?  To improve broadcast services, we're working on upgrading to full streaming audio and video over our own Internet Channel, so stay tuned.  For now, Microsoft® Windows™ users can follow these instructions to view the meetings, live, over the Internet.  That link also contains up-to-the-minute information for chat room users.

A spiritual renewal is received by those who attend.  Speakers in the past have included Dr. Mike Casey, Alan Fine, Hugo Gambetta, Charles Morton, Jeff Peppinger, Samuel Pipim, David Pogge, Patricia Robertson, Mary Lou Stollenmaier, Ted Tesner, Stephen Wallace, Lewis Walton, and many, many more.  Our retreats are old-fashioned, Christ-centered, and conservative.

Camp sites with water and electricity are available without charge.  Please bring your own bottled drinking water.  Outside portable toilets and separate men & women's showers are available — also free.  No charge for camping.  Please provide your own complete meals: except for Sabbath Fellowship Lunch on the lawn (i.e., please bring a dish to share).  As usual, we will host a free, and complete, Saturday evening Cookout on the lawn and a Sunday Pancake Breakfast on the lawn.

Our retreats are one of the best little tent meetings anywhere and, up until now, the 150+ people who attend each year have kept it one of the best kept SDA secrets.  But now folk are hearing about it anyway so we might as well open the doors to anyone who is spiritually awake and adventurous.

Plan to join us for these Spiritual Feasts — you won't want to miss these retreats!  We will keep you posted with a schedule when it is available.  Again... Our retreats are held near Terra Bella, California, which is about 45 miles north of Bakersfield.  For more details and a free newsletter, Contact Us.

Other Accommodations

Nearby motels, which we have found satisfactory, include both a Motel 6 and a Best Western in Porterville, CA — Motel 6: 935 W. Morton Avenue, 559-781-7600; Best Western: 250 W. Montgomery, 559-781-7411.  Best Western is closest to the campground but is also more expensive.

If you wish to rent an RV, for use on the campground, you may call RV'n USA in Visalia, CA, at 559-651-1717 and ask for Ed.  They will deliver the RV to the campgrounds for you.  When the retreat is over, they will come out and pick up the RV.  All you have to do is move in and make sure you clean it when you move out.
