New Light Concepts

"We must not for a moment think that there is no more light, no more truth, to be given us.  We are in danger of becoming careless, by our indifference losing the sanctifying power of truth, and composing ourselves with the thought, 'I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing.'  While we must hold fast to the truths which we have already received, we must not look with suspicion upon any new light that God may send."  — Ellen G. White, Gospel Workers, page 310  (written in 1915)

"The question has been asked me, 'Do you think that the Lord has any more light for us as a people?'  I answer that He has light that is new to us and yet it is precious old light that is to shine forth from the Word of truth.  We have only the glimmerings of the rays of the light that is yet to come to us."  — Ellen G. White, Selected Messages Vol. 1, page 401

Throughout history any time God has seen fit to shed new light on His people, Satan has done his best to discredit God's messengers in whatever way he could.  Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and the rest of the prophets were not greeted with open arms by God's chosen people.  In fact, Jeremiah was thrown in a pit and Isaiah was killed for preaching new light.  New light was as unpopular in Christ's day as it had been in the past.  The apostle John is probably the only apostle of the 12 apostles that was not killed for his faith, but even he was thrown in boiling oil and banished to an island.  Luther and Huss were not popular with the church when they brought new light to the people.  Luther was excommunicated and Huss was burned at the stake.  Ellen White and her whole family were disfellowshipped from their church when they accepted William Miller's message and began spreading it.  Indeed, new light has always brought persecution to the bearer of the light.

Can we expect any better treatment today if we present new light than what God's messengers received in the past?  History has a way of repeating itself.  Bible Explorations is committed to preaching and spreading the truth regardless of the consequences.  We ask that as you "explore" the Bible with us that you will first ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to all truth and that He will clearly show you any error that may occur.  Second, set aside all of your preconceived ideas and let God lead you in your study.  Third, any new light must agree with the Bible in order to be true new light.  The Bible is the standard that all new light must be measured by.  The opinions expressed by those of us working with Bible Explorations or anybody else for that matter, are worthless unless they are backed up with a "Thus saith the Lord."  Remember that Satan also has new light to shine on anybody that will listen to him.  Fourth, new light must not conflict with the Spirit of Prophecy.  Finally one last reminder and word of warning--Satan always opposes all new light that God sends to His people Your family, friends, and even your church may oppose you in your search for new light, but you must not let them influence you when God has led you to new light.  With these thoughts in mind, let's begin:

We are told that we are to strive to be among the 144,000.  What all does that include?  The following videos and books will help shed light on this very important question.  After all, if we are indeed the last generation and Christ's coming is imminent, then we must know more than any other generation has known.  A brief description follows the listing of each item.
